This has been an altogether pleasant week. Started off with a football game AND a basketball game and went well from there. We had a lovely Christmas day - good food, great presents and a Kings win over the Lakers! I also talked to every member of my nuclear family. Because Greg and I are basically kids still, we each saved a present to open up later Christmas night to stave off Christmas letdown. I hope that everyone had such a nice day.

Last night, Greg and I participated in a Phoenix tradition for the first time - ZooLights. I think everyone in Phoenix was there - it was crowded, but that made it fun. Various parts of the Phoenix Zoo were decorated with light displays and we wandered around, sipping cocoa, and watched all the kids having fun. I'm generally not a fan of zoos, but the Phoenix Zoo is very nice - they wisely choose animals suited for desert conditions and have very large, mixed habitats to simulate natural conditions. If you're ever in town, give it a try.

Today, I did some work on my presentation for the American Astronomical Society meeting that I am attending in Seattle. I did my work in Greg's office, so I still had fun.

No letdown.
