Today I received an email containing the following sentence:

I am looking for current books that can be used as lures or bait.

Not spam, but rather a plea from campus police to help them set up a "book theft" sting. They caution that many of the book thefts on campus are perpetrated by people who commit more serious illegal conduct on campus.

I just think that, during an age of budget cuts, the campus police are going to sell the texts to the used bookstores to raise revenue. Not that I necessarily disagree with that.
