Alright, I don't follow soccer. It looks like chaos to me and always has. But my research lab contains many futbol-philes, and so the TV was turned to the Iraq-Portugal match today, which was part of the first round of the Olympics. Portugal, winners of the 2004 Euro Cup (so I'm told), was heavily favored. I was just so happy for the Iraqi team when they won. They've kinda had a crappy couple of years, don't ya think?

Gee...female atheist liberal scientist cheers on Iraqi soccer team...is that Tom Ridge at my door?
