2004-08-15 8:19 PM Celebrating summer's end Mood: kinda happy, kinda blue Read/Post Comments (0) |
Tomorrow, I go back to work for my "week of accountability". Classes start on Aug 23, and so this upcoming week will be full of preparations for the fall semester. Drafting syllabi, revising labs, building web pages, meeting new TAs, advising students...all that stuff. And thus ends my unstructured play-time. I was out of town for 31 days between a scientific conference and teaching workshop, a few trips to Los Angeles, one to Flagstaff, and the glorious Northern California trip. Closets did not get organized, cupboards were not cleaned out, but I did learn a new programming language and got some work done on filament motion in the Crab Nebula. I developed a new obsession for middle eastern/mediterrean food. I saw a lot of movies (for me). I watched the first six seasons of Buffy and started taking kenpo. All-in-all, not a bad summer vacation. To celebrate the end of vacation, honoring the idea of summer vacation, Greg and I saw Alien vs Predator, had quesadillas for lunch, napped, and had ice cream for dinner outside in a monsoon storm. A nice way to end the summer, I think. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
