You know it's hot when the Arizona Republic has a headline which reads Head for cover! Hades' heat has found us. After a mild spring, summer has found us with a fury. Need to head for higher latitudes!

I can't believe the first week of summer is over. Of course, I spent a great deal of it dreaming of Star Wars. Greg and I went to a midnight showing, surrounded by geeks, former students, and nerds trying to masquerade as normies. I enjoyed Revenge of the Sith very much. Is it flawed? Yes. Did it hit some of my hot buttons? Oh, yes. But it was darker than I thought Lucas could do after having seen the other prequels. That's what I wanted - truly dark.

Now I have to buckle down and finish up my poster that I'll be presenting at the American Astronomical Society conference next week. Oh well, that shouldn't be too bad, but it's remarkable how quickly I shift into vacation mode now. I guess I'm still a workaholic nine months of the year, but I do enjoy my three months of unstructured play time.
