I have returned again to this idea of the dangers in "taking things too seriously". Such a bold statement must surely mean I have a way to explain it.

This would be absurd.

To put it another way,
the person who takes things too seriously is the person who thinks s/he has the Answer.
That's a lot of credit to give to yourself, isn't it?

The serious person has all of his claims in a row and truths to back up said claims.
The freeist comes off as a fool and doesn't argue, but also has no claims to be taken away.
