The series covers topics ranging from the big bang to biological evolution. From the history of science to it's possible future. From "memory" to UFO landings. From atoms to galaxy clusters. Sagan seamlessly explores these topics and a great deal more. And wow, was he a smart guy! Cosmos was produced in the early 80s, a fact I was occassionally reminded of by some of the graphics and music. While at times a little cheesy, a majority of the music and effects are superb (using Holst's "Planets" throughout and even Pink Floyd). His use of models to literally "walk through" the solar system (for example) to show it's scale, really leaves an impact. Sagan was not only very "in the know", but he was also a superb story teller. There are so many amazing moments in the series, I would struggle to list them all. Highly recommended. I would say this has to be one of the greatest (and grandest) educational documentaries ever produced. Hail Sagan! Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
