"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"

When we recognize that God lives inside all of us, and is present everywhere in the universe simultaneously, to present requests to God is to present requests to the way things are, including the way that we ourselves are. This is to say, requests to God are also requests to our own self, and part of the answer may be a change in our own behavior or an adjustment in the way we think about a problem. "The Lord works in mysterious ways" because we ourselves are mysterious creatures. There are tragedies within God because there are tragedies within ourselves. There are miracles within God because we have the capacity to do and see miraculous things. There is no need for worry when you are connected with the eternal being because there is no time in eternity for worry.
