Partially due to frustration from not earning a paycheck, partially on a whim, I decided to throw a few resumes to the wind and see if they might happen to land on anyone important's desk. Apparently they did - Three of the biggies actually called me up! (Probably this is due to that heavyweight name on my resume, the same thing I've been slamming as of late. I've chosen to ignore this.)
It feels fantastic, because the past 3-4 weeks I've been experiencing a downhill-accelerating demi-crisis of a lack of self-confidence. I felt like I was fucking everything up, or not doing well enough, or just blending in, and not feeling like standing up and making a scene for fear of sticking my foot down my throat. A little interest goes a long way. It's like when your crush object actually acknowledges your existence. Of course, now I'm up shit creek. I feel like I went to an audition expecting to be cut in round one, and wound up making it through - despite knowing all along that I had a conflict with the show date. Of course I'll go interview with any- and everyone who wants to see me. It'll be good practice, since I've been way out of the loop. But it makes me nervous. It's only March, and I'm supposed to be at the internship until May/June-ish. A regular paycheck - hell, an irregular paycheck, for that matter - could lure me away like Pepe Le Peu after lady skunk smell. But I like where I am. Despite the smut.
