2005-02-23 10:41 AM oh, for crying out loud... I can't believe this... Yesterday evening Rice and I both developed the cough that's been rampaging through the area, lasting for 3 to 5 weeks, and turning into bronchitis and pneumonia. We're going to try to avoid those parts of it. We just can't get a break this year. But according to the paper, no one else is really either. Avadore was up about 4 a.m. this morning to use the bathroom and the morning went down from there. I was already uncomfortable and not sleeping too well. After Avadore went back to bed, I heard Rice coughing. I took him some cough medicine which progressed into herbal tea and honey at about 4:45 a.m. which progressed into a shower for him at about 5 a.m. and for me at about 5:30. The evil cough comes with an aching upper back and neck. The shower didn't help. At about 6 a.m. I moved into the living room, where Rice already was, and finally fell asleep about 6:30. Avadore, bless him, actually slept in for once and we got up at 9. Now, keep in mind that during all this my mind has Shirley Jackson's We Have Always Lived in the Castle, Caitlin R. Kiernan's Threshold, and Donnie Darko swimming around and around. I get funny at night anyway; my brain was crazy last night. I called the doc's office today for cough relief suggestions. I don't need another night like the last one. Not for a while at least. And maybe I should change the books I've been reading and movies I watch in the meantime... :).
