2005-12-14 9:32 PM if it were spring we'd be bees Lots, lots, lots to do lately. I haven't gotten a lot of writing done lately, and I must admit, I'm very twitchy in that regard. But lots of other things have been done.
Yesterday Avadore and I put up the Christmas tree. This is actually a story in itself, so I'll just hit the highlights. After Avadore and I were done decorating the tree, I asked Avadore what he thought. "It needs a star on top," he said. And sure enough, the top was bare. (The top that Rice and I have used in the past had seen better days.) I had been out that morning already and we it was storming outside and we live on this hill, so I took a coat hanger and some tinsel and made a topper. Avadore declared the tree "very good, very pretty", but it needed presents underneath. (He's three. How does he know these things already???) I said, "We'll do that another day." He took that to mean that we had no presents. "Let's go buy some." He said. "We'll do the presents another day," I said, again, because the minute we put presents under the tree, Avadore will open them, and I only want to do so much wrapping. Today we baked biscotti. Avadore declared it, "very good." Tonight Avadore helped me change my bed. I was concerned, but he was really quite helpful and the bed looks great. He has officially inherited his father's bed making gene. When we were done Avadore said, "It's very good, very pretty. It's a good bed. You a good boy, Mommy." That's right, you know where this is going: "And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good." And in other news not ready for dating. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
