Avadore's birthday is on the first. He will be four.

Last night before bed he told me he wanted a birthday cake for his birthday. He wanted one from the store, a blue one, with a red and a pink and a blue candle. I told him his birthday was in a couple weeks, in sixteen days (not a concept he really gets,) and that he could have a cake for his birthday.

So he jumped up this morning, got ready and dressed and said, "Let's go to the store and buy my birthday cake."

I tried to explain to him that today isn't his birthday, it's in sixteen days, but maybe we could go find a cupcake or something.

I have broken the kid's heart.
