2006-01-18 11:24 AM in which an old friend decides to begin to return Do you know that scene from Hook where Robin Williams, as Peter Pan, returns to Neverland and the lost boys aren't quite sure what to do with him or who he is. And then one of the boys touches his face and says, "There you are, Peter." Peter was there all along, just no one could see him.
This morning, after showering and getting dressed, I looked in the mirror to make sure I was somewhat presentable. You know, no weird shirt tags sticking out, all the cuffs up right, etc., etc. (Not that the kids would care.) And then I noticed it. "Well, there you are." It's taken 8 1/2 months, but I'm starting to recognize my body again. You know, things like, "Is that really a waist?" Such a nice thing to wake up to.
