2006-10-10 3:00 PM question of the day and more irony How do you tell when a kid is actually having a problem with a skill or when the kid is just being creative?
After speaking with a few people, including early childhood educators and so on, this is the question that keeps popping up. I have a couple of leads for some specialists in the area, one of which is a friend and neighbor of mine. I knew she had gotten a new job after finishing her M.E. with a focus on early childhood development, but didn't realize that she was one of the specialists at the university until an early childhood educator friend of mine gave me her number. (She just always referred to her new job, would mention it was a tad bit stressful, and would leave it at that. I wouldn't pry after the "a bit stressful" part.) I left a message.
