questionable sales and other such things

I have been focusing on discussing the writing over at the writing journal, and have been saying very little over here, so I thought it was time for an update.

Lots of stories are out. Something like ten, I believe. Must fill the coffers.

I was notified that a story was passed up to the editor at OSC's Intergalactic Medicine Show. So though it won't find a home there (because have you seen who they are publishing?), I am very happy that it made it out of the slush and is on its way to being read by the man who makes decisions. These things are nice.

This is the story about the Ghost dance, and the White Buffalo Maiden, and stuff that you may recall me discussing Once Upon a Time. I have been bad and have only sent it out, um, twice before, but it gets lovely rejection letters. I suspect there is a home for it, somewhere.

I may have my first sale of the year. I was told my story is in the pile to make an appearance, but I usually don't count on these things until hands have been shaken, and contracts exchanged, and other such things. More information to come, I suspect.

As for the novel in 90, I have kept up and have been writing my little heart out. Currently the story seems lost, though there is plot. Please tell me how it happens -- I need to know so I never find myself riding down this road, following this particular set of headlights ever again.

Finally, I have been wandering around all evening with Neil Gaiman's voice in my head. We were listening to Coraline on tape in the car while running errands, and he's stuck in there now. This could be a very interesting night.

Um. Yes. I should quit posting after I've poured every ounce of intelligence out into the novel. And earlier in the day might be nice.

I think that may be all.
