2007-02-05 8:08 PM a weekend of birthdays, part 3 On Jarvis Pilchard, part 1
The Hotel Monaco is a pet-friendly hotel. We could have brought our cat, and he would have had a lovely time, though he would have spent most of it alone. If one came to the hotel and didn't have a pet, the hotel would provide a goldfish, and they did. He was a medium sized white goldfish with a gold bit on his head. There are pictures; I will have to post one. I put him on the nightstand and Rice said, "What are we going to name him?" I recalled that in the past few weeks Rice had said, "We ever have another kid we should name it Jarvis Pilchard, though it's possible he meant Bob the Builder's cat. And so, of course, the fish was named. He was a sweet fish, quiet and graceful, as most fish are. We had a nice long talk about his life, but that's a post for another time. Sadly, when we came back to the hotel on Saturday afternoon, Jarvis Pilchard was gone. A purple fish was in his place. He was named Jarvis Pilchard II. He was a curious fellow, with a story of his own. Again, another post. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
