2007-11-02 8:47 AM a fallen hero It wasn't long ago that Avadore was in love with Superman. Last Halloween, even, when asked what he wanted to be he said, "Superman!"
Now LD is madly in love with Superman. He is all about Superman. He has been running around the house for the past few days in a Superman pajama top, occasionally with the matching cape, and his blue snow boots, yelling, "SUPERMAN!" and pretending to fly. Sometimes he jumps off furniture. He adores Superman. This morning Avadore tells me that, "Superman is not my favorite," with a look of kindergartener disgust. I ask him why. "Because he wears his underwear on his pants," he tells me. I do not laugh. This is good to know. I mean, personally, I always wondered about the Spandex, but one would also assume red bikini briefs over one's Spandex is even more of an issue. Avadore tells me he likes Spiderman and Batman. I can find no fault with this. I'm pretty crazy about Spiderman and Batman myself. (And Superman, red bikini briefs or no. BTW, did you know Superman is now a vegetarian? Go figure...) But I am, for now, refraining from telling my son that it seems Batman may also be wearing underwear on the outside of his costume... He can be innocent for a little longer.
