2007-12-13 10:01 AM yesterday Was a good day. Sent of contract, took kids to school, kids well behaved, got some fine writing done (draft 2.1 of a story from last year), found a poem I wrote last year that I had forgotten about which was not too bad, if I do say so myself... Started the fourth editing pass on another story. Akanthos called to say congratulations more in person, which was lovely. (I don't see Akanthos enough. I think I should start a petition that says he and his wife should move here. Or start making plans to move to the same place together :)... I have some fine friends, but none of them live here... Okay, that's not entirely true, but anyway...)
And then things went downhill in the afternoon and evening, but we won't think of those things. Today we are continuing to think of lovely things. Like the edit pass I shall complete today. Perhaps a good rewrite will be done. I will drink gingerbread tea. I will eat crisp apples and buttery toast. I will eat either Moroccan Chickpeas with veggies and brown rice, or perhaps winter veggie stew with a small bit of cheesy mashed potatoes. I will not stare at the poor smoked pheasant sitting in my 'fridge that Rice's great aunt sent in the mail, with its little legs sticking out at me. I am sure Rice will enjoy it. (I know, I am a wuss.) I will listen to Jarvis Cocker because it is snowing outside and it's Jarvis Cocker weather. Have I mentioned winter is here? Have I mentioned the need for mad driving skillz over the past two days? Have I mentioned I'm grateful I'm in Idaho where the weather is moderately sane, and not in the mid-west or in the areas of Oregon and Washington that were hit with wacky weather last week? I will wonder how it is that during two nights over the past five nights nights I have developed the basic story to two novels (one more in depth than the other), and how I found a key to another novel. I will politely request more short stories from Campbell. I will have fun with LD. I will help for an hour at Avadore's school. I will put a package in the mail. I will enjoy myself.
