2007-05-31 8:08 PM The cell phone rant. I don't think I've really complained about anything for about a week so here goes.
Verizon blows. Verizon wireless has my family by the balls and they know it. Everything is fine and dandy until one of our cellular devices get sick and suddenly no one can do anything for us. A few months ago the screen on my phone just decided it was not going to work so I hopped over to the Verizon store. My mom had insurance on the phone so I expected all to go well, but as soon as I told the guy my problem (who looked like he had been clubbin wit his homies two hours earlier) he immediately shot back with a "Sorry, I can't do anything for you." But we have insurance. "No you don't." Thanks, asshole. You would have thought I just asked him out on a date. I walked away in a puff and luckily another employee noticed the speed at which my stubby legs were headed for the door and the scrunched up look on my face and asked what the problem was. All I wanted was a new cell phone that came with an alarm but there are these rules you have to follow and even with insurance you wind up paying just as much had you not had the insurance. We also have internet and digital phone service from Verizon. Oh, digital phones, yay. No one told us that the phone lines would occasionally be down, and by occasionally I mean a lot, and by down I mean that it is not even possible to call 911. My mother, terminal cancer patient, may very well need to call an ambulance and thanks to Verizon's wonderful reliable technology she might not be able to. Thanks.
