2008-06-15 2:09 AM Let the gays marry It's late, and this is something that has been on my mind. I've probably written about it before anyhow.
Gay people should be allowed to marry because straight people have already ruined marriage, thereby making it impossible for gays to mess it up anymore. Who are we kidding ourselves when we say that marriage is a sacred union that should only be shared between a man and a woman? Where is the sanctity in going to a drive-thru chapel in Vegas and leaving legally wed fifteen minutes later? Where is the everlasting bond between two disgruntled parents who call it quits after the birth of their second child? Obviously straight people can't get it right, so why don't we let the gays give it a shot? Maybe they can do it better than we can, and if they can't, they at least deserve to find out on their own. There's nothing wrong with two people who love each other, regardless of their gender. And honestly, who really cares if gay people can marry? Gas prices will still be astronomical, we'll all still get up and go to work and TV will continue to be plagued with reality television. Speaking of the latter, when will producers realize that America is sick of reality television? Just because you were famous 25 years ago, that doesn't make you a celebrity. It makes you a has-been. And does anyone actually watch The Hills? I don't, but I still see that little bitch Lauren Conrad on every tabloid. Who cares about her? Nobody cares about her or her silly friends. Why do people think their lives are so important? Ooh look at me, my hair is shiny and I wear eyeliner, I'm so pretty and perfect, I live in California and work for a magazine and somehow have millions of dollars, which is so like reality! Ugh. It was a long day. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
