2008-12-03 11:28 PM Dear auto makers: please take coach next time. There may be a lot I don't understand about business and the economy, but I fail to see how car companies are better than the average citizen and deserve our money. While the rest of us must scale back and watch every penny these extremely wealthy men have the audacity to request funds with which to support their failing businesses. They've finally realized that people will not buy a Ford merely because their grandparents did so two generations ago. If the automakers receive aid this opens the taxpayer-funded breadline to every company feeling the pinch--and that's most of them. Another thing. I sincerely hope those CEOs get used to flying coach because I really don't wish for my money to be funding caviar dinners and a bottle of bubbly. Having those insensitive bastards jet into Washington, cry big fake bankruptcy tears and then jet back to their mansions and yachts insults the public's intelligence. What are we, blind with open pockets? If your business is failing because you were oblivious to consumer needs, too damn bad. And if these greedy serpents do receive aid, they better not be producing any more Hummers, Excursions or other monstrosities.
