Well, just a quick note to say that I'm feeling better this morning. I went running after I dropped Em off at school, which really helped. Also, on a very positive note, this means that I've gone running four times in the past week - last Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, and today. My left heel feels completely fine, and my right one is markedly better.
I'm extremely happy about this - it's nice not to hobble!! But beyond that, running is such a wonderfully economical - in every sense of the word - form of exercise that I'm happy to have it back in my repertoire. I can do it in a short amount of time, winter or summer. And the muscles that it exercises are ones I use continually, natch - so walking becomes more of a pleasure when I'm running regularly. I can't neglect my quads, though!! My current plan is to get my mountain bike on the trainer this winter, but first I have to get it tuned up; one cable is loose, so I've only got 7 of the available 21 gears. (Of course, maybe I can adjust the cable myself. Hmm. Will have to give that a try this weekend.) My other indulgence was a nice sandwich from Zingerman's today . . . I just felt like I couldn't face the cafeteria again, and we didn't have anything around to make sandwiches with. Not to mention that I felt totally rushed for time this morning after my run . . . So we'll see how the classes go. Undoubtedly they'll be better than Monday because I feel a lot more upbeat . . . Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
