2005-02-24 9:47 AM Baby, it's COLD outside! Read/Post Comments (2) |
Well, it's about 20 degrees outside today, which is colder than I'd like it to be, given that my winter coat is in Cincinnati . . . We seem to have settled into a late-February weather pattern of highs in the low 30s - not warm enough to melt the styrofoam snow that's been with us for over a week now, and no additional precipitation to make it skiable. At least it's sunny. I was thinking about perhaps trying for a bike ride this afternoon when I get home, but the cold might deter me on that front . . . I might opt for the trainer instead. My current plan is to get home early, start dinner (Irish stew) and then exercise. We'll see.
Many of my compatriots at work are off at a conference, to which I was supposed to go, too - but there was an administrative step I needed to take to get approved for this conference, and nobody told me about it. I'm a tad frustrated by this; I realize that everyone here just knows these things, and when you just know, it's hard to remember to tell people. But still. I'm irritated. I'm especially irritated because my travel money for my other trip - to San Francisco in June - may have been jeopardized. If that's the case, I'm going to scream bloody murder. But this trip isn't a biggie, given that next week I leave for England . . . where, apparently, the weather isn't appreciably warmer than here. (At least not in London, where it's currently 37 degrees. Leeds might even be colder than here; Wunderground won't give me a listing for Leeds . . . ) Ah, well. Better grade some papers before I toddle off to class . . . Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
