Something I forgot to mention: Jeff also gave me this article, which appeared in the Lansing State Journal (he was no longer sure when). (The article's a .pdf, and you're either going to have to print it or crane your neck sideways - sorry about that! I didn't think this through very carefully . . . ) I used it in class today. It sparked much lively debate (especially since they inkshedded before we discussed - all the opinions were out there before the talk began . . . )

And, something that made me smile: On the way back from class just now, I saw a burly young man in a muscle t-shirt that said, "I [heart] girls who do curls". Yeesssssssss!! Maybe we're getting somewhere after all . . .
