And today I have to report my second Winter Driving Incident: The roads in Lansing were slippery in parts as I began my drive home (through rush hour). The freeway was a parking lot (probably backed up because of an accident, I surmised), so I opted to take surface streets across town. As I went over a freeway overpass, I felt a slight irregularity in the steering and thought, "wait a minute - this might be icy." It was the sort of spot that, in a different car, might have actually felt slippery - but with all-wheel drive, it just felt odd. Took me a minute to identify the oddness, and then I felt a nice warm glow thinking about that all-wheel drive . . .
