2007-02-06 3:04 PM I'd rather be knitting Read/Post Comments (0) |
Hmm, my brain seems to have gone on Spring Break well in advance of the academic calendar. Maybe it's something about the cold weather, or maybe I've just gotten snowed under with work to the point where it all seems hopeless (this happens every semester; it's just a job hazard in this line of work), but all I want to do today is curl up on the couch, listen to the radio, and knit.
I started another Moebius scarf last night. This one's going to be done in alternating stripes of periwinkle, light gray, and dark blue-gray. I've figured out a way to alternate the ribbing that just has me excited beyond reason - and the only way to see how it will look is to knit it, natuerlich. Last night I got through three bands of color, and it was looking pretty swell, I must say. But then in the middle of the night I realized that I hadn't cast on enough stitches, and it would be too short if I kept going . . . so this morning, I ripped the whole thing out and started over. The unusual thing about ripping out a Moebius is, the yarn comes off the top AND the bottom of the knitted piece. Makes one heckuva tangle, let me tell you. So I spent a goodly portion of time unsnarling string, as it were. Before I came to work I got mostly through the starting color (periwinkle) and I can't wait to get home and continue . . . I almost brought the knitting to work with me, but I wisely realized I'd get nothing done if I did so. So instead, I'm sitting here thinking about knitting rather than doing it. Some improvement, eh? :) Pix to follow . . . Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
