I'm watching "I Love the 80's Strikes Back" and they did a little segment on Rambo II. And I suddenly had a flashback to the 80's when the powers that be were wacked out enough to make a cartoon based off Rambo. I mean, is there anything MORE un-p.c. for a kid than a deranged Vietnam vet going around hacking people up? And they based THAT off a cartoon??? And they had the toys, and the sound-effects laden toy guns that sounded like high powered assault weapons. What the heck were they thinking? "Rambo" and "cartoons" are two words that should have never gone together. But it was a part of my childhood. I remember having little war battles with the kids down the street. THEY had the cool sounding water gun that sounded like Rambo's gun, purchased at Toys R Us. I had the 89 cent, fluorescent green water gun that was purchased at the local 7-11. Needless to say, all's not fair in love and war. Ahh..the good ol days.
