For those of you who care, Hollywood is turning C.S. Lewis' "The Chronicles of Narnia" into a series of films. Although not quite as huge of an event as the LOTR movies are, "The Chronicles of Narnia" are some really well revered books. And with the popularity of "The Passion of the Christ" helping make Christian movies popular again, it'll be interesting to see how Hollywood makes these movies. I'd expect it to be more Harry Potter-esque than LOTR-esque.
I just think it's neat that Tolkien and Lewis were good friends who went about making their own little books about mythology, good/evil, and how different people deal with what's being thrown to them. And now Hollywood is giving both series the honest treatment that was always deserving of them. I don't know the Lewis books that well. I read "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" when I was a little kid. But I don't remember all that much. I'll have to go back and re-read them sometime. I don't know who all's attached to the movies yet. The only person that I read is a shoo-in is Nicole Kidman. But I have no idea who's making the movie, or when they'll come out, or whatever. But stay tuned. matt out Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
