Word came down that Bryan Singer (of X-Men and X2 fame) will be directing the new Superman movie due out 2006.

I am both elated and a little bit saddened by this news. I am a huge Superman fan and can't wait to see what the wunderkind has in mind.

But he's also directed both X-Men movies which are the best superhero movies around. Since he's doing Superman, he probably won't be able to direct X3 or X4. I won't mind so much if they find a good replacement for Bryan Singer. He's really put some good things in the X-Men movies that it's going to be sad to see him go.

But I'm totally jazzed about the new Superman movie. Bryan Singer says that it's always been a dream of his to direct a Superman movie, that I can't wait to see what he has in store.

Now on to casting....who will play the man with the cape? Time will tell, but there's a certain person who starred as the Wolverine in Singer's X-Men movies that would be perfect for the role. That is Anya's pick anyway. ;-)
