Question:
Which of the new songs released with the Beatles Anthologies was the better song; "Real Love" or "Free as a Bird?"
My take:
One of my all-time favorite solo John Lennon songs is his accoustic version of "Real Love." I think it's a really nice sweet song. The Beatles version is great in and of itself, but I much prefer the solo version.
Even though I think "Real Love" is the better composed song, I think that I'm going to have to pick "Free as a Bird." The Beatles version of "Free as a Bird" seems more like a Beatles song to me since you can tell that all four people had an equal say into the composition and lyrics of it. You can tell that they took the framework of John's demo and added their own unique elements to it.
That's an easy one for me. What are your takes?
