Riding on Lucas' coat tails or Lennon/McCartney's?

On the one hand:

-you have a moderately talented actor, who disappears behind a gold costume.

-you have a moderately talented drummer, who disappears behind the more talented members of the greatest group the world has ever seen.

On the other hand:

-Ringo Starr was considered to be one of the better drummers, if not in Liverpool, then for most of England in 1960.

-Anthony Daniels wasn't even cast to do the voice, but Lucas liked his voice so much he decided to keep it.

On the third hand:

-Ringo has gone on to become a millionaire...oh about 100+ times over.

while

-Anthony Daniels has...well...gone to comic book conventions and...umm...recorded the Star Wars radio series...

Anthony Daniels is one lucky fella, and Ringo is actually a pretty darn good drummer when it comes right down to it.

I have to go with Ringo however...Although I think he's a better drummer than people give him credit for, he happened to be in the right place, at the right time. His drum work isn't to drumming the same way Lennon/McCartney's craftsmanship is to songwriting.

So the multi-multi-multi-gajilionaire, who hasn't really done much since 1970 overtakes Anthony Daniels and his comic book convention visits.
