I read yesterday that both Showtime and ABC are interested in buying Arrested Development from Fox, thusly saving it from the nether worlds of cancellation. AD is my favorite show on television, so hopefully this comes to be. It's so good, that I'd consider getting Showtime if they get AD.

I think ABC would be a highly logical choice. They have a history of sticking by comedies that don't perform mightily well. But what must attract ABC to AD is the potential for video iPod sales. Most of the people that watch AD are the same types of young, cool and hip people who like to download shows for their new video iPods. I guess this is good news because even if AD continues to draw mediocre ratings, dvd sales and video iPod sales could make the show a smashing success.

Because at the end of the day, here is what ABC is looking at:

Lost = video iPod success
Desp. Housewives = video iPod success
The George Lopez show and According to Jim = .....not so much success with either ratings or video iPod sales. haha
