From Wednesday through Sunday:

Giving up red meat was easy, because I had essentially given it up anyway. I haven't really missed it all that much.

Giving up laziness is a bit subjective. I'm not ready to declare that my lazy gene is suppressed, but I did spend more time outside this past week than I have in quite some time.

From Wednesday through Sunday, I did manage to run at Shoal Creek park. I must say that it's really hard getting back into shape. Once I am back in shape, I'm going to remember this week and how much it has sucked.

On Saturday, Anya and I went to Zilker park to go canoeing and to throw the frisbee around a little bit. I did all this after running about a mile and a half earlier in the day, so I felt a little beat down that evening. But it was a good type of pain. Surprisingly enough, Frisbee throwing can be a bit of a workout. Especially when you spend most of your time tracking down errant throws. ;-)

Canoeing was mighty fun, but really difficult. When I get more into shape, I might look into getting into rowing. I've always thought that it'd be a fun activity to participate in, but that's a LONG ways off. That's a hard damn sport, and I don't want to get into it out of shape. That's a consideration...

Maybe I'll take my friend Samantha's lead and join an ultimate frisbee team. That's another one of those endeavors that might depend on how physically fit I am.

I haven't done a super fantastic job at doing more reading and writing, but I hope to improve on that this week. I did manage to read the graphic novel, "V for Vendetta." It was a really kick ass comic/graphic novel, and I have high hopes for the upcoming movie. I realize that graphic novels aren't exactly what I had in mind when I said I wanted to read more, but it'll do for all intents and purposes.

Candy's been hard to give up, especially with Cadbury Eggs and Peeps on full display. :-( But I'll make it. haha

matt out
