One of my job responsibilities is to participate in what's called "Rally Duty." Since I work for the Dean of Students Office, I have to patrol the "free speech" areas on campus and report any free speech violations. So in other words, I have to that nameless figurehead who has to tell student groups not to get out of hand. I'm that Agent Smith who has to rain on the activist's parade when they want to bring amplified sound or when they want to get a little raucous.

*sigh*

Oh well. It's just weird, thinking that it wasn't too long ago when I was that student activist saying "screw the Dean of Student's Office, if we want to ________ then we're going to ______."
