It's kind of weird that with the election being over a year away, we're hearing so much about presidential politics. It's even weirder that by the time I roll into my polling place to vote for President, I'll do so with a baby in hand.

I'm not entirely sure when the Texas primary election is going to be, but if it's like last time I voted in the primary, the candidate will already be chosen by the numerous primaries that happen before the Texas one rolls around.

But who knows...With there being so many candidates and there being so many candidates winning different states, the Texas primary may be more important than it has been in the past. If the top candidates split many of the first key states, as some are predicting to be the case, it could make for a very interesting primary election cycle.

I still would prefer that every state votes on the same day. I know there are pros and cons to this, but I think it'd be great if every state got to pick the presidential candidate, instead of the winner of the first few states getting to coast through the remaining primaries. I'm sure my homies Adam, Scott, and Jace can shed some light on this subject.

As of now, I'm still an Obama man, but I tell you what, the more I hear of Edwards the more I like. Too often, the only class of people politicians want to talk about is "the middle class." I think it's great that we have a candidate who has worked and promises to continue working for those in the underclass. His talk about fighting poverty borderlines on LBJ-esque.

While I may prefer a government paid health initiative, I think Edward's plan seems fairly within grasp.

I also dig his energy plan. I've been following it closely and it seems to be fairly aggressive. Heck, he even went so far as to say that Americans may need to sacrifice their SUV's. That nearly swung me his way all by itself.

That all being said, Obama is great. There's something about him that really resonates with me. In today's political world, having someone who inspires other people is a blessing that needs to be heavily considered. While I think Edwards is more liberal than Obama, I think Obama has more crossover appeal.

I read a Salon article the other day that mentioned that of all the three major candidates, Obama is polling better among Republican voters. How cool is that?

I am SO not into Clinton. I just cannot stand the thought of TWENTY-FOUR CONSECUTIVE YEARS of Clintons and Bushes in the White House. It just does not sit well with me...at all.

That, and I find her to be incredibly fake and artificial. Let's face it people, if her last name weren't Clinton, she wouldn't even be in this race. Hillary, just like Bill, gives me the sense that everything she does is calculated.

And I don't think she's electable. Turd Blossom was accurate when he said that candidates don't win when they have as much negativity (fairly or unfairly) associated with them. I mean, there's a huge portion of the population who will not vote for her, no matter what. Is that fair? Yes and no. Either way, it's not a good sign.

All I know is for sure is that January 2008 cannot come soon enough.

That's all I got for now.
