You got it right tonight. I think it's still early in the race and that anything can happen between now and the end of primary season, but I see this as an encouraging sign.

I have a lot of stuff to say about Edwards, Obama, and Hillary, but that'll come later. But for now, I'm pretty enthused. There are times when my support for Obama ranges from hot to warmish, but I cannot deny that there is something completely undeniably engaging about the man. I'm going to write more about this later on in the campaign, but I sometimes see the potential that he possesses and it makes me incredibly excited.

Quick thoughts on tonight's results:

- It was a bit of a worst case scenario for Hillary. If she came in second to Edwards, than you think that she's in good shape going into New Hampshire and beyond. But with her coming in third to both candidates when she was considered to be the front-runner...that has to be pretty devastating. She's not out of it yet, but this is one of those games where the home team falls behind 30 to 15 in the first quarter.

- Obama's speech was vintage Obama. It was electrifying. It's speeches like that that make me very excited about his potential. I read a great article on why Obama matters and one of the points the article hit upon was that our country really longs for a great orator who can keep an audience enthralled, regardless of their political affiliation.

- The pundits had it right when they pointed out that 70% of Democratic voters voted for someone other than Hillary. I think that's *very* significant.

- The key for Obama seems to be voter turnout. If he can rally the troops in New Hampshire and beyond, then he has a good shot at winning that primary.

- I also agree with the pundits that said that it seems like it's the beginning of the end for the Clintons as a political "machine." It does seem like the end of an era is beginning. But if Hillary pulls out NH and a few other states, I'll be eating crow.

That's all for now, folks.

- Matt
