Am I the only one who's dreading the whole "make up sex" session that's due to come after the primary is over? I completely understand that bridges were burnt during this whole primary cycle. And I know that because these are two historic candidates, people have taken an especially personal interest in the success of both of these candidates.

But there's a part of me that just wants to tell HRC people to get over it. This whole thing seems like it's going to be a little too touchy feely for my political tastes. "Are you (anonymous HRC supporter) doing okay? Do you need a pat on the back? Here's a cup of tea. Can I massage that debt right out of your feet?"

If the tables were turned and Barack had lost (is losing...whatever) fair and square, I'd be pissed. There's no doubt about it. But this is friggin' politics, not Oprah's couch.

I've been checking out polls that say that HRC supporters are seriously considering voting McCain post election. Some polls (depends on the state) have that McCain love (let's just call it McLovin to honor last summer's "Superbad" movie) going as high as 30-40% of HRC supporters and with 10-20% of Obama supporters getting in on the action. I have no doubt that if the tables were turned, the numbers would be slightly different. I've been guilty of saying that very thing once or twice. ;-)

But give me a break. If you truly cares about the makeup of the Supreme Court, Roe v Wade's overturning, getting out of Iraq, getting attention back on Afghanistan, getting a new health care plan, having a comprehensive energy plan on the books, then your choice is clear this November.

So yeah, let's take a moment to catch our collective breaths. Let's shed a tear or two if we have to. Let's hug it out. But then let's realize what's really at stake and get our sights focused on putting the Democrats back into the White House.
