- Early Beatles albums are a perfect length for my walk from the apartment to work. After skipping "Drive My Car" and "Norwegian Wood," which I always do when listening to "Rubber Soul," I step off with "You Won't See Me" and get into the office somewhere around "Run For Your Life."

- Sweet P has an ear, eye, and nose infection. She got a shot yesterday and seemed to sleep much better last night, so we're hopeful that she's on the up and up. These past few days been really trying on both Anya and I.

That being said, we both feel really fortunate that Parkers first illness comes right as she's getting ready to turn 7 months old. She hasn't even really had a sniffle until this week. I guess the rent came due.

It really seems like we mirror our children a bit. When your child hurts, you hurt. When your child smiles, you smile. When your child is sick, you feel sick too. As Mom said yesterday, that never really goes away either.

If there is an upside to a sick child, it's that I got to catch up on all of my Daily Shows and Colbert Reports as Parker napped.

- Does anyone remember a summer that *didn't* have a super hero movie in it? 2001 didn't have any cape wearers, but 2001 was bookended by X-Men in 2000 and Spiderman in 2002. And 2001 may count if you include either Harry Potter or Tomb Raider. Not sure those count, especially Harry Potter.

But other than 2001, it's been one summer after the next of super hero movies. Some masterpieces (Spiderman 2, Iron Man, Batman Begins, X2, The Incredibles), some of the good, but not great variety (Superman Returns, Blade 2) and everything else (Ang Lee's Hulk, Daredevil, blah blah blah).

I was getting a little worn out on the whole super hero thing, but "Iron Man" was awesome and I'm sure "The Dark Knight" will blow my socks off. So the bludgeoning continues.

That's all I got folks.

- Matthew
