the movie is mediocre at best
the action's aight, but good action has rarely been sw's problem

Luke: it didn't get good scores

me: it got horrible reviews
and it gave a lot of sw fans a "last straw"
"that's it, no more sw until lucas isn't attached" kind of thing
"tired of wasting my money on mediocrity" kind of thing
which is sad
how did sw fall so low?

Luke: yeah well
lets just see how final that straw is...

it was kind of a final straw for me

me: its kind of sad, but the more time that elapses since the prequels, the more kind of bitter i get about their quality
their quality is all.over.the.map
its hard to feel attached to the prequels

Luke: yeah i agree

me: i feel that the prequels, for the most part, are a 1 thing right to 1.5/2 things wrong ratio

me: whereas the original trilogy
was like...5 things right to 0/1 things wrong
its hard to find fault with the ot
nothing really "wrong" until jedi
or the special editions
i mean, how invested can one get when jedi are fighting lame ass droids??????

me: well, the whole ewoks thing wasn't necessarily wrong, but i can see how a case can be made

Luke: yeah

me: as with all things lucas, the concept of a species like the ewoks defeating the emperor's "best troops" isn't bad, it's the execution
they should have left them as wookies
and pulling storm troopers arms off and shit

Luke: agreed
they could have done that and
not made it too violent
still alright for kids

me: yeah

Luke: well, we always have our imaginations

me: yeah

Luke: and according to disney, that's the most important thing in the wide whole world

i think it would be cool if someone goes back and redoes SW all peter jackson style
make it all epic style

Luke: maybe someday that will happen
when we are old

me: but also, part of the fun of sw is how "light" it is

Luke: yeah thats true
i think meeting in the middle would be good

me: and all the above being said, i still can't wait to show parker the holy saga someday
maybe it can be a daddy and uncle luke production

me: not til she's much, much older. like maybe 1.5 years old ;-)
