The Obama/Biden team is whooping some debate ass. Biden's right; if this were a best of five series, it'd already be over.

I felt that McPalin looked tired and old last night. And I don't mean old so much as in age, because Biden's pretty old too, but old in just a really disheveled kind of way. His hair was poorly combed over. His voice wasn't commanding. His attempts at humor went over poorly.

Barack, on the other hand, appeared presidential. He appeared presidential when he was sitting. McPalin would lob all this crap his way and he'd just deflect it with his usual disarming look of bemusement. And then he'd get up and give his answer and just kill McCain's answer. My favorite answer was the one where McPalin tried to paint Obama as being reckless for talking about his ideas for Iran. Look at the expression on McCain's face as he realizes he's walked into a trap.



I also have to say that Brokaw was awful. Sure, he had the unenviable task of trying to hew as closely as he could to the arcane rules both campaigns came up with for these debates, but he kept harping on it. He kept asking his own questions. I thought he was awful.

So if McCain wanted last night ot be a game changer, he failed miserably. Not only did he fail to change the game, he struck out in the 8th inning with people on base. He's running out of chances. Thank God.
