Blank

I awoke, mind blank. Fuzzier and dizzier than the day before, I found myself at the job. The photocopying laser went up and down as I stared. If I stayed up here in this niche too long, there would be questions and accusations. What if I hid in that corner by the boxes of paper and stayed all day? I walked down the blue carpeted stairs, empty handed. There would be hell to pay, but I couldn’t muster the required uneasiness. Later, on the bus: mind blank. I slid down my seat and slipped into a dusty dream.

(A quick oneword.com post - an odd one, but I'm pleased that the words flowed so quickly and easily to write something longer and still beat that acursed timer.)
