"...yet sometimes form a strange couple." - Diane Salavracos, a Belgian "industrial relations" manager for the EU who spray paints her garden in her spare time.
I was reading a bit of that issue of Craft over supper. As the cover scanned by fpgirl shows, its primary theme is "Japan style." (The BYM receives the magazine as part of his subscription to MAKE.) I won't be crocheting flowers or polishing mud balls anytime soon, but I had to talk myself out of signing up for the kimono fabric bundle-of-the-month club just now. (Love fabric. Loathe sewing. If I actually get to my mending before the end of the year it'll be a minor miracle.) Good things include: * Israeli muppets singing "Shana Tovah" to "Manah Manah." * Listening to some of Carolyn Jean Smith's mp3s (baroque recorder music). She's collaborating with my friend Mary and artist Julia Tenney in a Somerville salon this Saturday. * Received galley proofs for the poems appearing in [GROWLING SOFTLY], which will become available from Blood Pudding Press sometime next month. * Yesterday's errands-go-round included stops at a "world market" and an Oriental grocery.
