Today's subject line is from "Come down, O love divine", which was the opening hymn at First UU this morning. I love singing Vaughan Williams's settings -- and this morning I happened to be standing next to a solid soprano and in front of two very strong tenors, so I switched to alto for the second and third verses. Bliss!
(Also, the 6.6.11.D meter is very cool -- the 11 = the second line of each verse.) The chamber choir's renditions of "Zikr" weren't flawless, but good enough to elicit "wow"s at both services, and I hit my high Fs in spite of lack of sleep. The "Story for All Ages" was about St. Joseph of Cupertino, patron saint of test-takers, aviators, and air travelers. It was cute. Working on a handful of poems and a heap of spreadsheets.
