Today's mail included a very apologetic rejection for a set of poems I'd submitted at least three years ago -- and probably more like six or even eight: the SASE has a 34-cent stamp on it (Comiskey Park), one of the poems is dedicated to someone who disappeared from my life circa 2002, and I'd stopped using my complete name on poetry subs by 2003. (I could look it up, but it would require scrounging through old backup CDs and/or bankers' boxes to find the log in question.)
At any rate, it's nice to find out for sure what had happened, and it doesn't hurt that the note included both a compliment specific to one of the poems and a "try us again." And I've been writing better poems than the three they sent back to me, so yeah, I think I will. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
