(Subject line = one of my favorite lines from O Come, O Come Emanuel -- a carol I thought unlively and lugubrious as a child, but one I find myself humming at odd moments as an adult.)
Over the past week, I've seen anger, anguish, and anxiety expressed by a number of Episcopalians and Anglicans regarding, to quote LJ:tree-and-leaf, the Archbishop of Cantebury's choice "to raise concerns about the appointment of Canon Glasspool [an openly lesbian bishop]... while still keeping his mouth shut about the Ugandan homosexuality bill." I commend you to tal's comments and the essay she linked to. On a separate (and happier) note, the BYM has been chatting with Saz about our next trip to New Orleans, and she sent a link to the Krewe de Vieux... of which one of the sub-krewes is the Krewe du Mishigas. (Socrates, if you're reading this, you need to scroll down to the link to their "Katrina Song" - it's set to "My Favorite Things.") Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
