[Until further notice, I'm just going to quote Grégoire lyrics for these miscellany o'pleasures entries.
Toi et Moi reached the top of the French charts last summer, and rightfully so. *
bounce bounce bounce!*][translation]
So, it's June, which means an abundance of humidity and mosquitoes, but also myriad pleasures:
* Having just enough butter and oatmeal in the house to bake a batch of cookies
* Indexing
* Fixing a longstanding update jam on my laptop. Not incidentally, CC Cleaner rules.
* Watching part of the French Open mixed doubles final live, thanks to ESPN360.com
* Being thrilled that the two women who will be playing in the singles final (Stosur and Schiavone) are both over 25
* Getting assorted cards and letters into the mail
* Sitting on the balcony of Hard Rock Cafe two nights ago, sipping the Guinness
the band's lead singer had bought for me.
* Feeling inspired by the amazing, bright people I know: Amy and her bandmates have energy and talent to burn. The friends I wrote to this morning include an oil painter, a poetry teacher, and a sociologist.
* Being able to toggle between English and French keyboards
* Beautiful young men who share their hot chicken takeout with their too-engrossed-to-realize-it's-dinnertime wives :-)
And there be more, but it's time to refill my iced tea, rub more Benadryl on my bug bites, and dive into more indexing. (Iced tea + indexing + BYM within kissing distance = nerd heaven.)
