In Robert St. John's entertaining Deep South Parties, there are a number of denominationally themed punches. The ingredients: - Presbyterian Punch: lemonade, pineapple juice, ginger ale - Episcopalian Punch: 1/5 bourbon, 1/5 brandy, 1/5 sherry, 1/5 sparkling red wine, juice of 12 fresh lemons, 2 c. sugar, 1/5 soda water - Catholic Punch: burgundy, gin, ginger ale, sugar, lemon juice - Baptist Punch: cranberry juice, apple cider, pineapple juice, orange juice, lemon juice, ginger ale - Mrs. Lampkin's Methodist Punch: pineapple juice, lime gelatin mix, sugar, lemon juice, almond extract (I don't expect to be assembling any of these anytime soon. Sweet potato brownies, on the other hand...) I'm going to try to catch Ellingtown at the library later today.
