Friday's goals are met!!!

Hello again. Here I am at good ol' JournalScape again! I wanted to find a way to quickly update my journal entries, and if the rumors I've heard are true, there are even more nifty features coming soon. So I've moved some of my more recent entries over here, and have to fix some links on my web page to make everything fit together.

It's been a great day for writing and getting all the miscellaneous crapola done 'round here. I keep thinking to myself, "It's a good thing I don't have a Day Job, or else I'd never get ANYTHING done!" And it's so true.

Last night I finished drafting my first chapter of the romance novel, and then this morning and part of the afternoon I went over it and over it, trying to make it as interesting and fast-paced as possible. It was a lot of fun, and it really made me want to go back to Ocracoke, where the novel is set. Actually, Lizzie and I may be going there in mid-October for 2 days so we can do some "research" and get away for her Fall Break.

So I sent out the chapter to some folks, including Jenn and my mom and sister and sister-in-law and our friend Clarke to get their input. This is becoming a family project! It's been a lot of fun, and I thank Jenn again for pointing out this contest to me. Thankyouverymuch!!!

I also cut the lawn, got groceries for Lizzie while she prepped for her big presentation tomorrow, and tonight we're going to chill out with Indian food and "The Panic Room." Talk more later!

Today's Words:
500

Now Reading:
Northern Gothic, Nick Mamatas

Now Playing:
"Bachelor No. 2," and "Whatever," Aimee Mann; "Busted Stuff," Dave Matthews Band

Today's Quote:
For some reason, however, just like he hadn't told his ex-girlfriend, Mitch hadn't told Melissa about what he'd seen down in the sunken ship. He was afraid she would laugh at her like his buddies had, or worse, think he was patronizing her. Knowing her, she'd probably want to hold a séance underwater so she could talk to the ghosts, or whatever it was down there in the wrecked ship. Melissa's latest craze had been trying to read fortunes, tarot cards, and even tea leaves. Most days, Mitch thought his older sister was slightly nuts, but she was never boring.
