Tired of being so damn anal retentive!

Ready for a brew, a slice o' pizza, and some 'Canes!

Yeah, well, I'm behind schedule, once again. So sue me!

I spent the morning putting together some paperwork for the bloody paper route (grrr), which it looks like I'll be doing for a bit longer, as I didn't get the job at the pharma company (I'm contracted out until mid-November, and they need someone on Nov. 1). But I'm on their list of "to-call" writers, so that's a plus.

Then came the anal-retentive portion of the day. I redid my Author Page at Publishers Marketplace, as one of my goals after I finish my novel(s) is to find a frickin' agent. ("Hey! You! Behind the desk! Will you be my frickin' agent???") So that's the first step -- getting my page up and running there again. I spent an hour or two too much tweaking it, because I'm such a damn perfectionist. It's still not 100% yet (I have a couple more rights postings to do), but I finally had to stop and move on.

Then I put together my NC Arts Council grant proposal, which consists of a resume, an application, a narrative ("How I plan on spending the money you give me") and a writing sample. I've hard a tough time with that last one -- should I send something "literary" or be true to myself and send a genre story? I played with the idea of going all out and sending them the surfing zombie story, but I'm fairly sure I'm gonna send "Coal Ash and Sparrows." Good thing I got the proof of that story this week, huh? Timing is a good thing to have on one's side, I feel...

I just finished all that stuff a bit ago, and actually got to do some work on the Wannoshay novel again! Wow! What a treat! I finally got to enter the edits I marked up on it earlier this week. Busy busy busy.

But the good news it that I've gotten almost all of my miscellaneous tasks off my plate so I can totally focus on working on the last 5 chapters of the Wannoshay novel tomorrow.

Other than the paper route, and maybe reading some of Carol Emshwiller's novel The Mount (she's supposed to have cool aliens in there), I plan on just working on the novel all day. Should be fun!

Now I need to get ready so we can watch the Carolina Hurricanes with Holly and Val. Go Canes!!! Later!

Now Playing:
"Satellite Rides," Old 97's

Today's Words:
200 (wowser!)

Today's Quote:
Shontera wondered where the helicopters were. There had been at least three in the air at all times around the mother ship and the surrounding area, watching the site as if that would stop the Late Ones from dropping in on them.

Instead of the helicopters, the sky above them was filled with an armada of ships, over a hundred strong. The ships were in similar condition to the ship in front of them. The reddish-orange light of early morning was almost blocked out by the rows of massive black hulls.
