A quickie.

Just wanted to update -- I wrote today! Wahoo! First time in a while, it felt like, but I think I've got chapter 1 of the romance novel nailed down, at last.

Another sleepy day at the workstation today. I'm off to go to sleep now. Did my words, did my deeds, now to catch some zzzzzs. Later!

Today's Quote:
After another hour of driving, Ella finally made it to the southern tip of narrow Hatteras Island. Everything had slowed down for her -- the interstate had become a coastal highway, which had become a meandering two-lane once she hit the town of Hatteras. Now she was creeping through the light traffic of early afternoon, following a muddy Bronco with half a dozen fishing poles wedged vertically into its front bumper, and a blue cooler bunjee-corded to the rear bumper. Through her open window, the tang of salt and the slightly-fishy scent of the ocean filled her nose.

Ella inhaled deeply as a crooked line of pelicans flew silently overhead, heading east. It was great to be back on the coast. Even though Dad was gone, she’d always have the gift of the ocean that he’d given her all those years ago.
